ZX Tole Action Figure- Max Factory Guyver Bio Fighter Collection 06 Review

Written by Jax. Pics Courtesy of Donnay

ZX-Tole is the leader of the Hyper Zoanoids Team Five. Articulation wise this figure cannot be compared with the Guyvers because of his thick thighs and bulky upper body which restricts some movement. However it is makes up for lesser articulation with other interesting additions.

The two covers at the back of the ZX-Tole figure can be lifted up and this will reveal two holes where the wings can be attached. The wings are exactly the same for Aptom, Zx Tole and Neo Zx Tole. It would be great if Max Factory had crafted different wings for each figure, but considering the details and effort that went into the other parts of the toys, I guess I can make do with the wings.

ZX-Tole has quite a wide range of weapons. The center horn on his head is moveable and can be folded back to reveal the head beam cannon. The yellow covers on his thighs and wrist can be lifted up to reveak the thigh and arm beam cannons.

The most interesting feature is the beam cannon at the stomach area. There is a mechanism at the back of the ZX-Tole Figure so by depressing it you can flip open and close the 3 flaps that cover the cannon. Not bad.

ZX-Tole is the only one of the Hyper Zoanoids Team 5 that has been produced by Max Factory. The other figures are in the Bio Fighter War Collection and have only less then 4 points of articulation. But they still look reasonably good when placed together.

If you are a completist then ZX-Tolee is a must have, though many collectors choose to forgo him and purchase just Neo Zx Tole instead. To me, Zx Tole and Neo Zx Tole are distinct individuals each with a different story to tell so there was no way I could convince myself to let one substitute for the other.

Yes, these Guyver figures from the Bio Fighter Collection are expensive. So my strategy is to be focused on fewer toy lines but try to complete all of them. Given the high quality and poseability, the price is definitely worth it.

Bandai Tamashii Nations - SH Figuarts DBZ Majin Buu Figure Review

Introduction - SH Figuarts Majin Buu Figure Review   "Buu turn you into candy and eat you!"  The Majin Buu is the final villain in the Dragon Ball Z Manga. Honestly, I did not like the Dragon Ball Z Majin Buu Saga when I read the manga as a kid. I felt that the author should have ended the manga after the Cell Arc. All the different forms of the Majin Buu such as Kid Buu, Super Buu (Evil Buu) , Innocent Buu (Fat Buu or Zen Buu) as well as the other intermediate forms as Buu absorbed other characters really got me thinking that the author was   running out of ideas. Nevertheless, the character design is pretty unique and the SH Figuarts Majin Buu (Fat Buu or Zen version) captured this very well.  Packaging I knew that the SH Figuarts Majin Buu was going to be a big figure but when I received the actual figure, I was pleasantly surprised that it was HUGE . The box itself is much larger than the SH Figuarts DBZ Nappa figure. ...

Jax Woon's Collection - Rare Guyver Figures 100% Complete Collection in Glass Display Cabinet

I just moved to my new house and finally got a proper toy display cabinet for my toy collection. The centre-piece of my collection is of course the Guyver anime figures from the Maxfactory Bio Fighter Collection Series. I have had many friends coming over to my place and commenting that these Guyver Figures look very nice but they had no idea who these characters were. If you do not already know them and are a fan of anime, I highly recommend that you purchase the Guyver Anime: Complete Box Set [Blu-ray] from Amazon.com to get to know them. It is just 26 episodes so it will not take up a lot of your time to start a new anime series. I consider myself lucky to have been able to complete the collection way before the prices sky rocketed in the secondary market. Just doing a quick search on Ebay and you will find that the average listed price for the Guyver Figures is about USD$200 to USD$400 per figure meaning the prices have more than tripled from the time of relea...

Toy Review: SH Figuarts Dragon Ball Z Normal Vegeta with Scouter - Bandai Tamashii Nations Action Figure

I have been looking forward to this SH Figuarts Vegeta  figure for a very long time. This depicts the Saiyan Prince Vegeta during his first appearance on Earth, still spotting his tail which enables him to turn into a giant ape as well as his Scouter. This figure is now commonly known as the SH Figuarts Vegeta 2.0, SH Figuarts Vegeta with Scouter or SH Figuarts Vegeta (Normal) to distinguish him from the Super Saiyan Vegeta. Great details seen here on the Scouter which allows the  S.H. Figuarts Vegeta  to detect the Battle Powers (BP) of his opponents.  I have always liked the idea of the Scouter which allows the author to more easily describe the various capabilities of the characters in the Dragonball Z manga. It allowed the author to quantify the strength of the Dragonball Z characters. This is the only time the  S.H. Figuarts Vegeta  is seen with a tail. After the battle with Goku on earth, his tail never grew back and from then ...
