"Enough of this. Vader, release him!" - Hot Toys Grand Moff Tarkin and Darth Vader Star Wars Figures

Hot Toys has released a Star Wars: A New Hope Figure set containing both iconic characters Grand Moff Tarkin and Darth Vader.I think these two characters require no further introduction.

Hot Toys has included all the necessary accessories required to re-enact scenes from the Star Wars A New Hope Movie. I think toys are a great way to somehow own a part of the movie, be a part of the characters that I like from movies. Having a Darth Vader toy figure that I can pose with and "play" with some how satisfies my childhood fantasy of wanting to be this bad ass character to a certain extent.

I admit, quite embarrassingly, that I do still secretly perform voice-overs and read out lines from the movie when I pose and play with some toys. Does any adult do that openly? Sometimes I would be hiding in my room, posing my Hot Toys Star Wars Darth Vader, and I would read out loud classic quotes  from the Star Wars movie. Even my facial expressions would change as I get so into the character, only to hear my wife letting out a laugh from behind me. She had entered the room silently and caught me in the act! We would all have a big laugh about it.

The Hot Toys Star Wars Grand Moff Tarkin and Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure set allows me to do just that. I imagine having many hours of fun acting out scenes from the movie while hiding secretly in my room. Muhahaha!!

Tarkin: Princess Leia, before your execution, I would like you to be my guest at a ceremony that will make this battle station operational. No star system will dare oppose the Emperor now.

Leia: The more you tighten your grip, Tarkin, the more star systems will slip through your fingers.

Tarkin: Not after we demonstrate the power of this station. In a way, you have determined the choice of the planet that will be destroyed first. Since you are reluctant to provide us with the location of the Rebel base, I have chosen to test this station's destructive power on your home planet of Alderaan.

Leia: [shocked] No! Alderaan is peaceful. We have no weapons. You can't possibly–

Tarkin: You would prefer another target? A military target?! Then name the system! [stepping closer to Leia and pinning her against Darth Vader] I grow tired of asking this, so it will be the last time. Where is the Rebel base?

Leia: [looks at Alderaan for a moment, then, resigned] Dantooine. They're on Dantooine.

Tarkin: There. You see, Lord Vader? She can be reasonable. [to assistant] Continue with the operation. You may fire when ready.

Darth Vader: Her resistance to the mind probe is considerable.

Darth Vader: I find your lack of faith disturbing. [ force choke in progress]

Tarkin: That's enough. Vader, release him!

Darth Vader: As you wish.

Darth Vader: And now,Your Highness, we will discuss the location of your hidden Rebel base.

Jax Woon's Collection - Rare Guyver Figures 100% Complete Collection in Glass Display Cabinet

I just moved to my new house and finally got a proper toy display cabinet for my toy collection. The centre-piece of my collection is of course the Guyver anime figures from the Maxfactory Bio Fighter Collection Series. I have had many friends coming over to my place and commenting that these Guyver Figures look very nice but they had no idea who these characters were. If you do not already know them and are a fan of anime, I highly recommend that you purchase the Guyver Anime: Complete Box Set [Blu-ray] from Amazon.com to get to know them. It is just 26 episodes so it will not take up a lot of your time to start a new anime series. I consider myself lucky to have been able to complete the collection way before the prices sky rocketed in the secondary market. Just doing a quick search on Ebay and you will find that the average listed price for the Guyver Figures is about USD$200 to USD$400 per figure meaning the prices have more than tripled from the time of relea...

Toy Review: Max Factory Figma Guyver I Figure vs Maxfactory Bio Fighter Collection Guyver I Figure

I have been a collector of the Maxfactory Bio Fighter Collection Guyver figures for many years now and it was only recently that the Figma Guyver I  came to my attention. Even though I have seen pictures of the Figma Guyver I figure for a while, I had always thought that it was just a scaled down version of the previous Bio Fighter Collection Guyver I figure. It turns out that I was wrong and there are many differences between the old and new Guyver figure and the  Figma Guyver I   could be a good start to a promising toy line. In terms of scale, the Figma Guyver I figure is smaller than the BFC Guyver I figure but the differences do not stop here. Articulation and paint job wise, the Figma version is fantastic and even more articulated than the BFC version. For example, the Figma Guyver I can actually perform a high kick and a split which the BFC Guyver I is not able to, due to the very hard rubber located near the waist. Also, you can switch o...

Guyver Figure- Guyver III Max Factory Bio Fighter Collection 01 Review

Written By Jax. Pics Courtesy of Donnay The Guyver Figures from the Max Factory Bio Fighter Collection are one of the coolest toy figures I have ever came across. The  Guyver III Bio Fighter Collection Series 01 (Max Factory)  is the first figure of this series. Lets review it point by point: Packaging: I personally love the packaging for this series. The outer layer is a transparent box which offers protection for the second layer. The second layer is the packaging which houses the plastic covers that sandwiches the Guyver III within it. It really looks good on display with all the printouts of the images of the toy itself, as well as display of the arsenal of interchangable arms and blades(more on this later). What is best is that you do not need to make any cuts or tears to the box in order to get the toy out. This means that if at any point you do not want to display the  Guyver III  figure any more, you can just pack it back in to the box just l...
