Toy Review: Bandai Tamashii Nations S.H. Figuarts Piccolo Dragonball Z Action Figure

The S.H Figuarts Piccolo figure is a fantastic figure at a fantastic price. First released in Novemeber 2009, this figure had a recommended retail price of USD$45. Surprisingly, this beautiful S.H Figuarts Piccolo figure and can still be found on Amazon.com at a very reasonably $35 dollars at the point of writing.

Looking closely at the S.H Figuarts Piccolo figure, you can tell that Bandai did a fantastic job and they really captured the feel of Piccolo very well. The figure itself stands at around 170mm and comes with many accessories that you can mix and match, making it a very fun figure to have. He comes with interchangeable hands, face and his iconic costume with turban and cape.

Also, I think Piccolo looks very nice with folded arms which is also included. The S.H Figuarts Piccolo figure is very articulated and the joints are smooth, making posing easy.

A small regret is that the S.H Figuarts Piccolo figure does not come with any energy effects even though he has the interchangeable hand that depicts him "charging up" for his most powerful attack, the Special Beam Cannon or the Makankosappo which roughly translates to Demonic Penetrating Light Death Cannon". There are some custom made energy effects like this one that you can get off Ebay or other custom websites.

Paint job wise, the figure is top notch and very well detailed. In terms of colour scheme, the S.H Figuarts Piccolo figure is using the manga colour instead of the anime colour which means that his arm muscles are painted yellow instead of pink. If you want the anime colour version, you will have to go for the SDCC Exclusive S.H Figuarts Piccolo which costs roughly 3 times the price.

On a personal level, I quite like Piccolo as a Dragonball Z character because he is cool headed and often acts like a tactician. Besides, he is one of the most powerful Z warrior, discounting all the Saiyans of course.

The S.H Figuarts Piccolo figure is an amazing toy figure and I strongly recommend it to all S.H Figuarts collectors. Besides, the low price of USD$35 offers a pretty low entry price for such a beautifully made toy figure.

Check out what other buyers are saying about the S.H Figuarts Piccolo figure. He currently holds a score of 4.6/5 with 111 customer reviews on Amazon.com

Jax Woon's Collection - Rare Guyver Figures 100% Complete Collection in Glass Display Cabinet

I just moved to my new house and finally got a proper toy display cabinet for my toy collection. The centre-piece of my collection is of course the Guyver anime figures from the Maxfactory Bio Fighter Collection Series. I have had many friends coming over to my place and commenting that these Guyver Figures look very nice but they had no idea who these characters were. If you do not already know them and are a fan of anime, I highly recommend that you purchase the Guyver Anime: Complete Box Set [Blu-ray] from Amazon.com to get to know them. It is just 26 episodes so it will not take up a lot of your time to start a new anime series. I consider myself lucky to have been able to complete the collection way before the prices sky rocketed in the secondary market. Just doing a quick search on Ebay and you will find that the average listed price for the Guyver Figures is about USD$200 to USD$400 per figure meaning the prices have more than tripled from the time of relea...

Toy Review: Max Factory Figma Guyver I Figure vs Maxfactory Bio Fighter Collection Guyver I Figure

I have been a collector of the Maxfactory Bio Fighter Collection Guyver figures for many years now and it was only recently that the Figma Guyver I  came to my attention. Even though I have seen pictures of the Figma Guyver I figure for a while, I had always thought that it was just a scaled down version of the previous Bio Fighter Collection Guyver I figure. It turns out that I was wrong and there are many differences between the old and new Guyver figure and the  Figma Guyver I   could be a good start to a promising toy line. In terms of scale, the Figma Guyver I figure is smaller than the BFC Guyver I figure but the differences do not stop here. Articulation and paint job wise, the Figma version is fantastic and even more articulated than the BFC version. For example, the Figma Guyver I can actually perform a high kick and a split which the BFC Guyver I is not able to, due to the very hard rubber located near the waist. Also, you can switch o...

Bandai Tamashii Nations - SH Figuarts DBZ Majin Buu Figure Review

Introduction - SH Figuarts Majin Buu Figure Review   "Buu turn you into candy and eat you!"  The Majin Buu is the final villain in the Dragon Ball Z Manga. Honestly, I did not like the Dragon Ball Z Majin Buu Saga when I read the manga as a kid. I felt that the author should have ended the manga after the Cell Arc. All the different forms of the Majin Buu such as Kid Buu, Super Buu (Evil Buu) , Innocent Buu (Fat Buu or Zen Buu) as well as the other intermediate forms as Buu absorbed other characters really got me thinking that the author was   running out of ideas. Nevertheless, the character design is pretty unique and the SH Figuarts Majin Buu (Fat Buu or Zen version) captured this very well.  Packaging I knew that the SH Figuarts Majin Buu was going to be a big figure but when I received the actual figure, I was pleasantly surprised that it was HUGE . The box itself is much larger than the SH Figuarts DBZ Nappa figure. ...
