Toy Review :Hot Toys Wolf Predator (Heavy Weaponry) Alien Vs Predator Requiem 1/6 Scale Figure

The "Wolf" Predator was featured in the movie Alien Vs Predator: Requiem. The Wolf Predator was a highly experienced elite hunter and arrived on Earth to contain a Xenomorph outbreak after responding to a distress signal from the Scar Predator at the end of the Alien Vs Predator movie.

The Wolf Predator actually got his name from another movie, Pulp Fiction, by Quentin Tarantino. The character in Pulp Fiction, Winston Wolf, was sent to fix a mess that Jules and Vincent had gotten themselves into. Fans were quick to pick up on this and the Wolf Predator got his name because like Winston Wolf, they were both "cleaners" who were sent to clean up the mess and get people out of trouble. The newly announced Hot Toys Wolf Predator is true to its source material.

In terms of facial sculpt, the Hot Toys Wolf Predator is characterized by a missing mandible on the top left corner of his mouth and the left side of his face is scarred by acid. The detailing of the skin texture and weathering on this Hot Toys Wolf Predator figure to show the scarring is really amazing.

The Hot Toys Wolf Predator is of the Yautja species and there are many signs about him that point to the fact that he is a formidable warrior and fearsome hunter. For example, the Wolf Predator is seen to have a large collection of trophies from many different species and has a large collection of predator masks. He must have also been an active participant of many Hunts judging from the many rune type markings he had earned on his mask. The Hot Toys Wolf Predators missing or damaged mandible is probably a battle scar from one of his numerous battle which he wears proudly.

Another tell-tale sign that the Hot Toys Wolf Predator is a formidable warrior is his mastery of the diverse weapons in his arsenal. Many predator weapons previously unseen before made their debut with this character.

Firstly, the Hot Toys Wolf Predator is the only predator on the franchise to be seen wielding two Plasmacasters on his shoulders. This uniqueness in itself is a great reason to own this Alien Vs Predator toy figure. The Plasmacaster, otherwise known as laser cannon or shoulder cannon is the long range weapon of choice for Predators. The plasmacaster is able to automatically lock on to target and fire bolts of high energy plasma beams that can penetrate armor or easily kill off a prey. Due to this devastating power, they are often seen as dishonorable and taking away the fun of the hunt. That was why the Classic Predator removed his plasmacaster before his battle with Major Dutch in the first Predator Movie.

Another weapon that made it's debut was the Plasma Cannon Pistol and the Hot Toys Wolf Predator includes this accessory.

Shuriken are also included with 1 in open mode and 3 in closed mode which can be attached to the Wolf Predator's bandolier. The Hot Toys Wolf Predator's shuriken is a thrown weapon and works similarly to the Smart Disc. Like the Smart Disc, the Shurikens come with auto targeting capability and allows flight path correction to hit multiple enemies. When not thrown, it can also be hand held for close combat. When not in use, the 6 blades retract into the hub for easy storage on the waist.

Film makers actually came up with this idea of a weapon from Japanese Ninjas because as much as they liked the Smart Disc, it looked too much like a frisbee and they wanted something which looked more intimidating. The Predator's shuriken is a powerful weapon and was seen cutting through Xenomorph cleanly without slowing down.

The most interesting of the weapons included with the Hot Toys Wolf Predator is the whip. The whip toy accessory looks like it is wired and poseable and makes the Hot Toys Wolf Predator one of a kind. The whip is a hand held bull whip that can be used to curl around the Wolf Predator's opponent. Once it is pulled taut, it can slice the enemy in half. It is also resistant to Xenomorph acid and from the looks of it, it could have been constructed from a Xenomorph's tail, explaining its chemical resistant property.

A diorama stand is also included, along with other small accessories such as the dissolving liquid which Wolf Predator used to melt bodies away to cover his tracks and many more.

Jax Woon's Collection - Rare Guyver Figures 100% Complete Collection in Glass Display Cabinet

I just moved to my new house and finally got a proper toy display cabinet for my toy collection. The centre-piece of my collection is of course the Guyver anime figures from the Maxfactory Bio Fighter Collection Series. I have had many friends coming over to my place and commenting that these Guyver Figures look very nice but they had no idea who these characters were. If you do not already know them and are a fan of anime, I highly recommend that you purchase the Guyver Anime: Complete Box Set [Blu-ray] from Amazon.com to get to know them. It is just 26 episodes so it will not take up a lot of your time to start a new anime series. I consider myself lucky to have been able to complete the collection way before the prices sky rocketed in the secondary market. Just doing a quick search on Ebay and you will find that the average listed price for the Guyver Figures is about USD$200 to USD$400 per figure meaning the prices have more than tripled from the time of relea...

Toy Review: Max Factory Figma Guyver I Figure vs Maxfactory Bio Fighter Collection Guyver I Figure

I have been a collector of the Maxfactory Bio Fighter Collection Guyver figures for many years now and it was only recently that the Figma Guyver I  came to my attention. Even though I have seen pictures of the Figma Guyver I figure for a while, I had always thought that it was just a scaled down version of the previous Bio Fighter Collection Guyver I figure. It turns out that I was wrong and there are many differences between the old and new Guyver figure and the  Figma Guyver I   could be a good start to a promising toy line. In terms of scale, the Figma Guyver I figure is smaller than the BFC Guyver I figure but the differences do not stop here. Articulation and paint job wise, the Figma version is fantastic and even more articulated than the BFC version. For example, the Figma Guyver I can actually perform a high kick and a split which the BFC Guyver I is not able to, due to the very hard rubber located near the waist. Also, you can switch o...

Bandai Tamashii Nations - SH Figuarts DBZ Majin Buu Figure Review

Introduction - SH Figuarts Majin Buu Figure Review   "Buu turn you into candy and eat you!"  The Majin Buu is the final villain in the Dragon Ball Z Manga. Honestly, I did not like the Dragon Ball Z Majin Buu Saga when I read the manga as a kid. I felt that the author should have ended the manga after the Cell Arc. All the different forms of the Majin Buu such as Kid Buu, Super Buu (Evil Buu) , Innocent Buu (Fat Buu or Zen Buu) as well as the other intermediate forms as Buu absorbed other characters really got me thinking that the author was   running out of ideas. Nevertheless, the character design is pretty unique and the SH Figuarts Majin Buu (Fat Buu or Zen version) captured this very well.  Packaging I knew that the SH Figuarts Majin Buu was going to be a big figure but when I received the actual figure, I was pleasantly surprised that it was HUGE . The box itself is much larger than the SH Figuarts DBZ Nappa figure. ...
