Toy Review: SH Figuarts Dragon Ball Z Normal Vegeta with Scouter - Bandai Tamashii Nations Action Figure

I have been looking forward to this SH Figuarts Vegeta figure for a very long time. This depicts the Saiyan Prince Vegeta during his first appearance on Earth, still spotting his tail which enables him to turn into a giant ape as well as his Scouter. This figure is now commonly known as the SH Figuarts Vegeta 2.0, SH Figuarts Vegeta with Scouter or SH Figuarts Vegeta (Normal) to distinguish him from the Super Saiyan Vegeta.

Great details seen here on the Scouter which allows the S.H. Figuarts Vegeta to detect the Battle Powers (BP) of his opponents.  I have always liked the idea of the Scouter which allows the author to more easily describe the various capabilities of the characters in the Dragonball Z manga. It allowed the author to quantify the strength of the Dragonball Z characters.

This is the only time the S.H. Figuarts Vegeta is seen with a tail. After the battle with Goku on earth, his tail never grew back and from then on, all Saiyans are no longer seen with their tails. I personally think that the author did away with it because transforming into giant apes may seem cool at first, but strength that comes with size seems to be not so interesting at that point in time when the manga was moving towards the idea of Super Saiyans.

The S.H. Figuarts Vegeta  comes with this smashed Scouter accessory to re-enact this classic scene with the dialogue "It's over 9000!" when Vegeta realized that Goku's Battle Powers were way beyond what he expected and he thought that the Scouter must have malfunctioned.

Very nice picture of the S.H. Figuarts Vegeta along side the S.H. Figuarts Nappa. These two S.H Figuarts Dragonball Z figures go very well together. I love the size of the S.H. Figuarts Nappa and how he towers over Vegeta.

There will be many more interesting S.H Figuarts figures for the Vegeta Saga such as the S.H. Figuarts Tien Shinhan which will come with a ChaoTzu figure for attacking Nappa in a self explosion attack which failed, as well as a  S.H. Figuarts Yamcha figure which will come with one Saibaman. So, I guess there is no choice but to collect them all if we wish to re-enact the whole Vegeta Saga. The only accessory lacking now is the capsule that Vegeta escaped in when he was badly injured and I hope to see this being released one day.

The SH Figuarts Dragon Ball Z Vegeta comes with the following

  • Re-create dramatic scenes from the anime with incredibly life-like posing
  • The 160mm figure includes many accessories, including 2 pairs of optional hands, 2 optional facial expression parts Optional crossed arms, an optional head, a tail, a wearable scouter, and a hand gripping a crushed scouter
  • Product bears official Bluefin Distribution logo
  • The affixed label with the Bluefin Distribution logo also entitles the purchaser to product support assistance

Toy Review: Max Factory Figma Guyver I Figure vs Maxfactory Bio Fighter Collection Guyver I Figure

I have been a collector of the Maxfactory Bio Fighter Collection Guyver figures for many years now and it was only recently that the Figma Guyver I  came to my attention. Even though I have seen pictures of the Figma Guyver I figure for a while, I had always thought that it was just a scaled down version of the previous Bio Fighter Collection Guyver I figure. It turns out that I was wrong and there are many differences between the old and new Guyver figure and the  Figma Guyver I   could be a good start to a promising toy line. In terms of scale, the Figma Guyver I figure is smaller than the BFC Guyver I figure but the differences do not stop here. Articulation and paint job wise, the Figma version is fantastic and even more articulated than the BFC version. For example, the Figma Guyver I can actually perform a high kick and a split which the BFC Guyver I is not able to, due to the very hard rubber located near the waist. Also, you can switch o...

Bandai Tamashii Nations - SH Figuarts DBZ Majin Buu Figure Review

Introduction - SH Figuarts Majin Buu Figure Review   "Buu turn you into candy and eat you!"  The Majin Buu is the final villain in the Dragon Ball Z Manga. Honestly, I did not like the Dragon Ball Z Majin Buu Saga when I read the manga as a kid. I felt that the author should have ended the manga after the Cell Arc. All the different forms of the Majin Buu such as Kid Buu, Super Buu (Evil Buu) , Innocent Buu (Fat Buu or Zen Buu) as well as the other intermediate forms as Buu absorbed other characters really got me thinking that the author was   running out of ideas. Nevertheless, the character design is pretty unique and the SH Figuarts Majin Buu (Fat Buu or Zen version) captured this very well.  Packaging I knew that the SH Figuarts Majin Buu was going to be a big figure but when I received the actual figure, I was pleasantly surprised that it was HUGE . The box itself is much larger than the SH Figuarts DBZ Nappa figure. ...

Gigantic Guyver Action Figure- Max Factory Guyver Bio Fighter Collection 10 Review

Written By Jax. Pics Courtesy of Donnay Packaging for  Maxfactory Bio Fighter Collection 10 Gigantic Guyver Figure  is the same as that of the previous Gigantic Dark Guyver Figure . There are openings on the side of the package so that you can see the accessories more clearly. I guess the only reason for doing that is to tempt collectors more : ) Despite his size, the  Gigantic Guyver  is super articulated. Joints at the elbows allow for bending more then 90 degrees. The green gravitational boosters on the body are translucent and looks as if they are pulsating with energy. Once again, Max Factory has impressed me with the details on the  Gigantic Guyver's  face. No paint bleeding of any sort can be seen. All the details on the face are captured. The head can not only tilt downwards as in previous figures.  Gigantic Dark Guyver  and Gigantic Guyver can both tilt their heads upwards by around 45 degrees, opening up new possibi...
